Ifeanyi Ubah defeats incumbent Senator, Andy Uba of APC, Chris Uba of PDP and Nicholas Ukachukwu of APGA to emerge the Senator-elect representing Anambra South Senatorial District.

Ifeanyi Ubah defeats incumbent Senator

In what promised to be a keenly contested battle, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who flew the flag of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), a relatively new and unknown party, recorded an easy and overwhelming victory over the incumbent Senator, Andy Uba (APC), Chris Uba (PDP) and Ukachukwu (APGA) to return elected as the Senator-elect representing Anambra South Senatorial District.

Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah polled a total of 87,081 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chris Uba of PDP who amassed 52,462 votes and Nicholas Ukachukwu with 51,259 votes. Andy Uba recorded a meagre 13,245 votes. 

On his way to this historic victory, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah defeated the Uba brothers in their Local Government, Aguata LGA. He also amassed an overwhelming 28,101 votes in Nnewi North with his closest rival, Andy Ubah of PDP recording just 5,849 votes. He also won in Ekwusigo LGA and Orumba South Local Government making it 4 LGAs out of 7.

The news of Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah’s epic victory threw the Senatorial District into wild jubliation as people trooped en masse to congratulate him at his Nnewi residence.
